Why Should You Equip Your Car With a Touch Screen Car Stereo?

A touch screen car stereo is a part of an in-car entertainment system. It usually includes radios, cassette and/or CD players, GPS, Bluetooth, etc. The key feature of a touch screen car stereo is that you can operate it with a touch on the screen. The system has some benefits that outstand it from others.

It is easy to control the system with a touch of a finger. Some products even let you navigate by voice control. If you ever have a problem with the dial and pushbutton car stereo, you will find the touch screen a lot more convenient like I did.

Some screen car stereos allow you to add a rear-view camera to the system. You can use the large screen to see what the camera catches. You will be able to see what happens in the behind to avoid accidents, especially when parking.

Large and Easy to Read Screen

The traditional car stereo screen is small and boring. The text display is small and hard to read. There is no other information than a song title, writer, length, or channel number, etc. It is much better with a touch screen car stereo.

A touch screen car stereo is more colorful and easier to read. The display of text and items are bigger, so you do not need to roll your eyes out to read. The control is also simple and straightforward to view and operate.

Bluetooth® Connectivity

Almost all car receiver has Bluetooth® availability. It allows users to control the system through a smartphone without touching the main screen. Passengers love to play songs and videos of their own. It will feel like a music festival inside the car.

Moreover, Bluetooth® provides the hands-free calling feature to the driver. He/she can call or answer the phone without getting the hand off the wheel. The driver can still keep the eyes on the road and has a phone conversation.

Dual-zone Listening

Many touch screen car stereos offer a dual-zone listening feature. You can play two different audio or video content with the system. So, the people inside the car can enjoy their choice while the others listen or watch an entirely different content.

This feature is super useful when the passengers can’t agree on what to listen to. For example, you and your wife can enjoy your favorite song while the kids watch their cartoons in the backseats. Everyone is happy.

What To Look For in a Best Touch Screen Car Stereo

A best touch screen car stereo is not a small investment. Therefore, you need to consider every single option carefully before decide which one to buy. Some major features need a thorough investigation to find out the most value choice.

Input Sources

The primary task of a car stereo is to play music and videos, so it is necessary to check which kinds of input the stereo supports. Ideally, it should include a CDs/DVDs player, a USB port, and a 3.5mm jack. With those options, you can play almost everything in your car.

Smart Device Integration

The touch screen car stereo that you choose should be able to connect with your smartphones and other smart devices. When the two integrates, you can answer a phone call via the system, and control it with your phone. It also allows people in the car to play songs or videos from streaming apps on the smart devices.

Local and Satellite Radio

Many people say that the time of radio is over. Well, it is not. If you are driving the car around all day, radio is a savior. Various music, sport, or talk shows have been a companion of the driver.

All car stereos have AM/FM radio that allows you to listen to your local radios. You should be looking for satellite radio feature for your long road trip. It is also important to check for a built-in HD Radio decoding. It improves the audio quality a lot.

GPS & Navigation

It is needless to say how important GPS is nowadays. Nobody wants to end up in the middle of nowhere when traveling to an unfamiliar place. Your smart devices may have their own GPS and Navigation apps. However, having such features on your touch screen car stereo will be much more convenient to operate.
